"Under 30" Interview!

Stepheny from Steph's Blog!

 Tell us a little bit about yourself:

My name is Stepheny and I am 16 years old. I am the oldest of 5.  I
have four younger siblings, Adrienne, Luke, Brooke and Jyll Jonnee. I
enjoy being the oldest of not only my siblings, but also, the oldest
cousin and granddaughter on both sides. I live in the country, and I
absolutely love it!

I have been playing the piano for 10 years and the accordion for 6. I
absolutely love playing both, but it is really fun to play the
accordion. It is a rare musical instrument that no one really plays
(or has heard of for that matter) anymore. Unfortunately, my accordion
teacher died two years ago, and I was completely heartbroken. I did
not play for a while, but have recently picked it back up. I play for
my church once in a while also. (both instruments)
 I am in 11th grade and am really enjoying school this year. I have
been homeschooled since 2nd grade.... and I absolutely LOVE it!  I
would never do it any differently. two years ago, we named our school
"Homestead Academy".
I hope to go to college for teaching and music.

How did you start blogging/come up with the name for your blog?

I started blogging after I had been reading my friends blog for a long
time. The first thing I did was create a google account and accept an
invite to contribute to her cooking blog
(http://cuisineforcrowds.blogspot.com/) after that, I REALLY wanted my
own blog. I remember my first post went something like "I am new to
blogging, and this is my first post". Real exciting huh?  I came up
with the name "Steph's Blog" because I couldn't think of anything
else. Recently though, I've added underneath it, "It's Always Spring
Here"  Why? Because I LOVE the season of Spring... fresh, new, happy
and inviting.

      What are some things that you love about blogging?

I love being able to share my thoughts, and keep friends and family
updated on what is going on in my life. I also like making new
friends. :) and I've gotten to meet at least 2 in person.

What are your favorite things to post about?

I love it when i have time to post pictures. My computer is still on
dial-up, so loading pictures is hard, but I like to see lots of
comments about them.

Besides for blogging- what are your other interests?

When I'm not blogging, I like to scrapbook, play the piano (I've been
playing for 10 years) and the Accordion (I've been playing for 6
years). I also like to weave, and come up with many different weaving
creations. My sister and I started a weaving business called Yarns and
Strings Weaving, where we sell our creations. Another one of my
favorite things to do is bake. I've loved baking since I was about 2.
I have a baking business called Harmony Baking. I bake everything from
cakes, to cookies, to candy, to pies. You name it, I can probably bake
it! :) I love to decorate cakes in my spare time. I also love to read.
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE to write. In fact, I have written a book called
"Finding Friendship" and am waiting to get it published soon. I have
already started the sequel "Finding Faith".

What's your favorite Vacation spot?

My favorite vacation spot? Well, I actually have two. One is going to
Florida to visit my grandparents, my Aunt Lori and Uncle Kevin, my
Uncle Matt and Aunt Lacy and my cousins, Hannah, Chloe and Mattie. My
second favorite would be going to Middlebury IN. We go down to what we
call "Amish Country"... we usually stay the night at the Essenhaus,
and I can get my favorite Shoofly Pie! :)


Favorite Book?Movie?

My favorite book???? Are you seriously asking me that question? Oh, my
goodness... I'll have to think on it for a while. ........Okay, I
can't think of one particular book, so I will tell you my favorite
author. Anne Rinaldi and Kimberly Bruebaker Bradley.
Favorite Movie? The Magic of Ordinary Days..... HANDS DOWN!

What kind of music do you like?

Orchesta music and Irish Bagpipes. I also like anything slow with a
harp and piano and violin. I LOVE to sing... so I'd like to make my
own tape someday soon.
I only listen to conservative music.
