It Always Rains The Hardest On The People Who Most Deserve The Sun

Here's a little poem I wrote forever ago (end of the summer). I was feeling a little down, but reading it now I realize it's pretty good. Kind of.

Flaws

Look past my pretty girl facade.
The country girl ponytail and pretty smile.
See past my converse shoes and knee socks.
Look into my hazel eyes and tell me what you see.
You see the reason for that pretty girl facade?
To be wanted.
You see the reason for that ponytail?
Because I'm afraid of what you'll think if I do it different.
You see that pretty smile?
It's faked.
You see my converse shoes?
They're in style.
You see my knee socks?
I want to be different.
Why do you expect me to be perfect?
I'm not.
I have my flaws.

So,what do you think? Well, I hope you enjoyed!!(:

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! I feel exactly the same way at times, its refreshing to realize that I am not alone in those depressing feelings :)

I don't know if it helps, but whenever I feel down about my looks, I always recall my favorite verse: Proverbs 31:30
"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised" <3
